Independent adoption agency, charity Faith In Families employed my services for a few months in 2016.

Chris was recommended to us to provide cover for our Fundraising & Marketing Manager’s maternity leave. Logistics franchise

A Sandiacre-based logistics franchisee found me on LinkedIn and we worked together from August to November 2015 on all kinds of marketing tasks from strategy to practice. (See HOME page for details.)

I operated an SME logistics firm in Nottingham and was working with an extremely tight budget; I was looking for someone to work on our Sales and Marketing plan on a part time or ad hoc basis. Nottingham web design company, H22 Solutions Ltd, invited me to proof-read some marketing texts, write some copy for direct mail, and make some calls to local businesses.

Pending the arrival of a marketing apprentice last summer, I asked Chris to undertake a variety of tasks for me, mainly around using her grammar nerd skills to pick up on ‘auto-correct errors’ in my marketing literature and other collateral. She has very sharp eyes and a good business writing style which are very useful in writing copy and proof-reading! In my capacity as Chair of the board of trustees for The Opportunities Fund, I have been able to observe Christine’s performance as our Partnerships Manager over the 18 months since she joined us in January 2014. She started with a complete overhaul of our marketing, creating a professional and cohesive brand that would stand us in good stead whilst approaching businesses for funding support. She also inherited some difficult relationships which she turned around and developed into positive partnerships. She was also instrumental in refining our portfolio management procedures, including presentation materials. Unfortunately, the fundraising landscape in Nottinghamshire for most non-profits is very difficult at present, with a number of organisations losing the battle. We have decided that our remaining funds should be dispersed to the charity network we support.
